Family Resource Center sponsors redesigned
Eastside Human Services Alliance

Eastside Human Services Alliance has been a voluntary association of human services professionals for over a decade, providing networking and education programs for its loosely configured membership.

After a yearlong strategic planning process, EHSA redesigned itself as a dues-paying membership organization with the following role: EHSA provides a unified voice for Eastside health and human service providers in order to advocate for human services funding and resources. 

EHSA also educates its membership around funding and other issues important to nonprofits. Activities include ensuring representation at planning groups, alerting the membership to emerging issues related to human services and developing communication tools for the Eastside nonprofit community.

EHSA asked Family Resource Center to be its fiscal and administrative sponsor in order to be able to seek grants and hire part-time staff.

The compatibility of FRC’s mission (fostering partnerships, increasing access to community services and building the capacity of agencies to serve the community) and the desire to further an organization working to increase funding for health and human service organizations led to FRC’s acceptance of this new role in November.

Family Resource Center is also the sponsor for Redmond Youth Partnership, a community collaboration promoting youth activities, leadership development and youth involvement in community change.

Eastside Human Services Association memberships  are now being accepted.  The cost for staff at agencies with budgets less than $500,000 is $50. Those with larger budgets pay $100.
