Family Resource Center welcomes two agencies to the Family Resource Center Association.
Eastside Housing Association, a partnership between Friends of Youth, Hopelink and Catholic Community Services, was developed to break the cycle of homelessness in suburban north and eastside communities. EHA
will increase the supply of shelter and transitional housing in order to meet the growing need. It will also identify and solve the systemic problems which cause families and individuals to become homeless through
the use of intensive case management and sustained support.
EHA plans to redevelop four acres of the ten-acre former Coast Guard site in Redmond. The components of the project include shelter units, transitional housing, comprehensive case management, child care and community
space. The remaining six acres will be redeveloped with EHA’s community partners, including FRCA member Habitat for Humanity, the City of Redmond and a private developer.
Seattle Goodwill's mission is to provide quality, effective employment training and basic education to individuals experiencing significant barriers to economic opportunity. Seattle Goodwill, which joins the
campus in May, will train students job and job search skills, such as computer application, data entry, job readiness (for example: resume writing), financial literacy and more. Classes will serve clients tapping
other services at Family Resource Center, as well as new customers in the surrounding community.
