Homeless Youth and those at risk of homelessness will find new and significant help on the Family Resource Center campus with the addition of Friends of Youth Outreach Program. Program Manager Shawn Sivly was very pleased to take advantage of a rare opening at the Center. "There are so many resources right here for youth without them having to take a bus. We can much more easily refer to services, as well as partner with other agencies."
The Outreach Program provides outreach, case management and wraparound services to youth and young adults ages 15 - 22. Outreach workers with a peer leader make face-to-face contact with potentially homeless youth on the streets of East King County and provide information, referrals and basic supplies for hygiene and keeping warm. Case management is available for those seeking transitional or permanent housing. Intensive wraparound services are also available.
