The Eastside Cultural Navigator Program moved from the Center’s administrative offices into it’s own space (A-7) last month. The relocation is just one of the signals that this pilot program is growing and succeeding. The program offers free, confidential assistance to individuals with limited English language skills. Family Resource Center is a major partner and primary site for the program (Crossroads Mini-City Hall is another partner). With new grant funds raised by sponsor Chinese Information & Service Center (thank you, The Seattle Foundation), a Russian navigator was added at the Center. Navigator Irina Chermeshnyuk notes:
"For ten years, I have been assisting individuals and families with limited English language skills, providing information, referrals, advocacy and social services. I speak Russian and Ukrainian. I enjoy working with people and making a difference in their life. You can reach me Wednesdays from 10 am to 5 pm at Family Resource Center. My phone number is 425-502-0883. I look forward to seeing you."
